The following information will help you make the most of your Beantree email services. To start by setting up your e-mail program, refer to the setup instructions (PDF).
If at any time you need to make changes to your email accounts preferences, please open a Help Desk ticket. Some changes may impact your billing based on the hosting plan that you have selected.
E-mail Forwarding E-mail forwarding helps you to receive emails that are sent to your domain name. This helps build your brand and appears much more professional. For example, if your domain name is "mydomain.com" and you want to receive email with your AOL account, email forwarding allows you to use and advertise "myaddress@mydomain.com" but still receive your email by accessing your AOL or other account.
You don't have to update the e-mail address on your advertising or business cards. Simply update your Beantree email forwarding based on the domain names you have registered with us.
POP/IMAP Accounts To receive email, you must use either Post Office Protocol (POP) or Internet Message Access Protocol (IMAP). These options are available in nearly all email software including Microsoft Outlook, Thunderbird, and others.
SMTP (Simple Message Transport Protocol) Access SMTP is the standard used to send email across the Internet. Beantree provides secure access to relay or send email through our systems. Secure access is important to prevent the blocking of emails.
Autoresponders An autoresponder can be thought of as a "secretary" that automatically sends an e-mail response to email messages you receive. This immediate acknowledgement of email is especially valuable when customers inquire about an order placed with your company or have some specific in-depth questions on your products or services.
WebMail Web-based email has become very popular. Beantree provides this capability for all account holders. If you s use this service, be sure to update the preferences for your account such as your name and return e-mail address. You can access WebMail using webmail.beanbasket.com.
