Beanbasket Adds Powerful New Features in New v5.4 Release
|
Beanbasket.com is pleased to announce the v 5.4 release of the latest set of enhancements to it’s powerful B2B and B2C web store and shopping cart management system. While the upgrades to Beanbasket are part of your monthly fee, charges may apply to modify your web site to add these features in your Beanbasket implementation.
Site Search now reflects Best Price – Customers using the Site Search tool on your web store will now see the Best Price (either regular Price or Sale Price if offered) and sorting by price will now raise the ranking of your sale price promotions.
Site Search now understands phrases and Boolean operators – that’s a mouthful but it means that your customers can use plain English phrases (in Upper and Lower case and special characters) plus sophisticated operators like AND and OR and NOT in combination to find exactly what they were looking for.
Site Search now looks beyond just the name and description fields to include variances (search for size Large, or Blue items for example or even just Large Blue items).
Site Search includes Custom Item Attributes – Customers that need to create custom fields can easily do that and determine which ones are indexed by the search tool.
Custom Item Attribute fans also note that Attributes are included when copying items to really save item setup and administration time.
Site Search now automatically reindexes the items and all related items when item information changes or a new Order Motion product load is completed.
Product reviews import / export – Use Beanbasket’s Review Tool to capture and present customer reviews either as a stand alone system or in conjunction with other tools like blogs and 3rd party review systems.
Orders Paid on Terms can now be passed into OrderMotion. Enhance the ability for your best customers to order with Terms options that can be configured on an account by account basis.
Streamlined Beanbasket’s Order Motion product loads to reduce load time and scale to product volumes in excess of 10’s of thousands of products. With several new larger etailers joining the Beanbasket family we needed to make the loads more efficient and implement incremental product retrievals. You can now grow your selection of items dramatically and know that Beanbasket can scale with you
Add sales tax exempt flag at the account level. If you sell to non-profit or government customers you can flag accounts as tax exempt and that status will follow and stay with their shopping experience. You can store Tax ID information using Beanbasket’s Custom Account Attributes.
Add Custom Category Attributes. In keeping with Beanbasket’s extreme flexibility model, some store designs make extensive use of categories and items lists. Since the item list is then acting as the item detail we needed to add Custom Category Attributes to allow for search and sort and navigation options.
Create General Lists and General List MetaData. This is one of the more complex enhancements but has incredible flexibility. Here are some examples: Create a list of zip codes that reflect regions for either allowing or disallowing shipping options and region/zone specific shipping prices. Create lists of links in the header or footer (Shipping, Privacy, About, etc) and easily maintain/edit them without having to FTP code. Use it in conjunction with URL Mapping (v5.0 update) to point the list anywhere on the site. Drive navigation based on lists that link to pages based on URL Mapping.
Add more power and functionality by making the lists “personalized” to a group. Have the General List of links on the page be dynamically different by specific account or based on group membership Base the Zip/Zone list on group membership and have differing shipping rates based on account rules or specifically contracted rates. Create group definitions that pull from the Eastern regional warehouse vs. the Western regional warehouse.
General List import / export relate to the above and saves you administrative time and effort and improves accuracy by allowing you to import zips or other lists from other sources so you do not have to type or retype them.
Advanced Shipping Tools adds the ability to handle complex and custom requirements to the standard shipping tools. These definitely are custom tools and require custom coding, but for etailers that have shipping challenges we now have options to meet them. For example:
Create rules to determine what and how many items fit in particular boxes to determine shipping rates. Sell complex sized products and/or items that in combination may exceed 150 lbs and need to be separated into UPS shippable packages less than 150 lbs.
